Sketchbook 17.08.23

Sketching stands as an invaluable and methodical tool in the arsenal of architects, serving as the cornerstone of the creative process in Easy House’s contemporary and sensitive architecture. In the world of architectural design, where ideas materialise into structures, sketching serves as a bridge between imagination and reality. It empowers architects to visually communicate their concepts, explore design possibilities, and refine proposals.

In the pages of the sketchbook this month, we find a transformative extension to a semi-detached house. The scheme seeks to revamp the rear of the property, creating a vibrant social hub for the clients while seamlessly connecting the indoors with the outdoors with large sliding doors connecting the kitchen to the garden. Parts of the architecture extend into the garden – increasing the connection and creating a structure to divide the garden into different beds. Looking forward to seeing this one progress!

As the next step in this journey, the architects will evaluate the cost of the proposal at a high level to ensure alignment with the client's brief and budget. This essential phase will ensure that the vision created through sketching can be realised within the practical constraints of the project, marking the beginning of the transformation from concept to reality.
